Overview

The Sony SNC-DS10 Network Minidome Camera is a professional grade network security camera with exceptional image quality and motion detection capabilities. Video is captured using a 1/4" CCD with ExwavePRO technology, which operates together with an advanced exposure control system to produce consistently bright, clear, and well contrasted images of the surveillance location. With its 0.3 lux rating, the SNC-DS10 also performs well in low light conditions. Built into the camera is a 2.8-10mm varifocal, which at its widest will provide a 100 degree view of an area. For flexible data management, images can be streamed in either JPEG or MPEG-4, or in both formats simultaneously. In general JPEG, with its higher resolution is ideal for still image capture, while MPEG-4, because of its higher compression rate, is useful for viewing live images over the network. Image quality and frame rates are fully adjustable, and because of the camera's constant bit algorithm, can be calculated to suit available storage and network resources. Operating on Sony's DEPA platform, the SNC-DS10 offers intelligent motion detection functions including object detection, and the ability to set up a virtual borderline. This information is sent either to the NSR Series recorder or the IMZ-RS400 Series software, where after being analyzed will trigger a predetermined course of action such as activating an alarm or initiating image recording. By filtering out irrelevant material, DEPA technology significantly cuts down on network and storage requirements. Another unique function of the camera is Voice Alert, which can be used to broadcast, at the event of an alarm, pre-recorded audio files via a speaker connected to the camera output port. Sony also designed this camera for easy installation, with a wall/ceiling mounting base, PoE technology, and a ball-joint lens mount mechanism.
