The Axis Communications AXIS 0352-001 Network Camera uses a 1 megapixel CMOS sensor to capture the surveillance area in HDTV quality. Progressive scan and wide dynamic range technology further aid the camera in maintaining image clarity in various scene and lighting environments. The AXIS 0352-001 camera supports multiple video streaming using the H.264 or MJPEG compression schemes. Each video stream can be individually adjusted for frame rates and bandwidth to suit a particular network structure. While not vandal resistant, this camera incorporates a tamper-resistant design, which together with its compact profile makes it suitable for installation in retail stores, hotels, and similar sensitive commercial establishments. A unique feature of this camera is its pixel counter function, which calculates the number of pixels contained in a given part of the image, for example, a person's face. This is an important feature for satisfying certain jurisdictions that require proof of resolution before an image can be submitted as evidence. This camera also has the ability to detect and activate an alarm if it detects the lens being blocked or spray painted. Alarm I/O ports allow the use of external alarm and relay devices. The ability to power the camera via the Ethernet cable (PoE) offers greater flexibility in camera placement while cutting down on installation costs.
